tejek,

re:The Seattle papers claimed they were tearing down the house in order to build another section of Sharon's ridiculous wall around Israel and Palestine.

I'm fairly certain the merits of a wall have little to do with the issue of her death.

re:And she would not have died if the hate did not run so deep in Palestine. The Israeli bulldozer driver could not help but see her.......

She would not have died by simply stepping aside. The driver may or may not have seen her, we weren't there. Why did her friends not pull her aside and rescue her?

re:I think she was endangering her life by being a human shield

She absolutely was, it's a waste - she could have been more effective doing other (safer) things.

re:Apparently, some on this thread think some American lives are more valuable than others

I find that sad, but when you place yourself in front of a bulldozer you need to consider the risks. Her life was taken in a vain effort to stop a driver of a bulldozer - how that would be an effective action for change I can't understand.

Ted,

She was an American.......as American as anyone on this thread. Frankly, I think she was endangering her life by being a human shield and I would not do it, but I would never have denigrated her death. Too many Americans are dying to do that.

Americans who are dying today are denigrating the death of that girl? What on earth are you talking about.

That girl was an idiot, as is any "human shield".

Joe

Ted Re....And she would not have died if the hate did not run so deep in Palestine. The Israeli bulldozer driver could not help but see her.......she was wearing a red coat. And yet he denies it.

Apparently you haven't driven a bulldozer. I have, and believe me, they have a lot of blind spots. Depending upon the dozer, a big one has such a big blade, that it would be impossible to see a person standing upon the other side. And it would be impossible to see that the person on the other side has tripped and fallen, and got covered. Secondly, the noise from the engine is too loud to hear either hers or the screams from the crowd. I would consider it likely that the operator had no idea, and I would bet that if you had been the operator, you wouldn't have seen her either.
