Victor: Aside from a few holdouts for whom "truth" is what you dream up in your darkest moments, most people have given up using any possible link between Saddam and 9/11 as a pretext for this war. Just about every pretext has been tried and used at some point -- I think the pretext about setting up an instant democracy where we roll into town with a small contingent of highly mobile troops as Iraqis stand by the roadside waving and cheering to the boys from the USA while young children fly kites is one of the most fanciful (even if idiotic). For that unique view of our mission to do "god's work" we can thank Richard Perle.
