Oh Gawd, please don't mention the worst president of all times, Jimmy Carter, the peanut farmer.

We didn't have to worry about going to war with him though. He had the military in such bad shape, they couldn't get the vehicles out of the motor pools. There was no money for parts or maintenance. This is the closest we ever came to being attacked by Russia and if they had, there would not have been a damn thing we could do about it.

<< I, for one, agree that Saddam either had WMD or aspired to have them. And it was only a matter of time before he used the oil wealth to buy nukes from either rogue Russians or North Korea. >>

Good point. Saddam was a ticking time bomb. Many throughout the world would just as soon keep their heads in the sand, while thinking that terrorism doesn't happen to them.

<< But, we live in the world with many others, and must learn to work with others in the war on terror. >>

We've also got to be a little cautious. The brutal Arab regimes oppress their own people, and don't give a shit about anyone else. Look how long the Arab regimes have tolerated Saddam's brutal treatment of the Iraqi people, without "one" statement criticizing Saddam.

Why won't the Arab regimes criticize Saddam's daily torturing and starving the Iraqi people? They sure are criticizing America's effort to liberate those same Iraqi people.

The answer is simple. The Arab regimes are run by brutal, corrupt thugs. They are some of the worst crap on the earth. They are afraid, that if America removes the Arab crap in Iraq, and Iraq becomes a successful and free nation, that the other Arab dictators will be next. They are afraid that their own people will find out that Arab misery isn't caused by Christians, Jews or Hindus, it is caused by their own corrupt and evil leaders.
