The New York Times has a large Jewish readership, and a great deal of advertising in the Times comes from Jewish firms. It doesn't matter if Lieberman is a hawk or simply pro Israel. The end result is the same. I'm sure other newspapers, TV, and other media in general feel some pressure not to publish information that places Israel or Jewish intersts in a bad light. One must always ask whether reports in the media represent the whole story, or just a part of the story that is deemed "acceptable." This morning CNBC featured a Republican congressman doing his best to explain why scud and other missiles that Iraq has are weapons of mass destruction. That explanation should help while the U.S. forces search for something resembling uranium, anthrax, poison gas, etc. Art
