Hey Mike,

I am thinking of claiming status with the IRS as a trader rather than in investor. Did you do this before you went back to a job? Were there any hassles with the IRS if you did?

I have recently rented an office, and while I can probably find other justifications for deducting all my expenses without claiming to be a trader, it might clarify things. Am also thinking of taking the mark to market option for reporting income.

I am not asking for tax advice. I just wondered if you did this. I have never known anyone who did.
