If they were destroyed why didnt saddam document it to the inspectors to avoid this war? It is illogical, no??? We do know they keep fine records. > Mike, I've spent many decades in cynical disbelief and been rewarded for my skepticism very often. How exactly do I know Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction? I don't. I've seen convincing pictures of gassed people in the north of Iraq [or maybe it was Iran for all I know]. So somebody had something which seemed to be airborne and killed people quickly. But other than that, I don't actually have much information at all. I have 'trust me' from people who I know are untrustworthy. Saddam way back in 1990 knew that even if he pulled out of Kuwait, the sanctions would stay on - the sanctions which were put on to get him out of Kuwait, allegedly. The happy outcome of sanctions was higher oil prices and great profits for the Saudi buddies of certain USA and British oil interests who also enjoyed great profits. I'm not denying that Iraq does have weapons of blah de blah, I'm simply saying I don't know that they have. Similarly, for all I know, he might have managed to buy a few little nukes from some disaffected USSR nuke managers who have defected to Iraq or somewhere. For all I know he will, at some sensitive time, invite King George II to discuss a truce so that Saddam doesn't feel obliged to remove the centre of an American city with said nuke, stored conveniently in a non-descript lead-lined shipping container somewhere. That would make the anti-war mob gulp hard and think some thoughts they have not thought about. King George II could call the bluff and ask to be shown one of the containers. Saddam would only need one. If they are shown such a container, there would be negotiations for a truce. Then the world would get serious about weapons of mass destruction and a New World Order and reconstituted United Nations. Mqurice
