Here's why:- A tsunami of bitter hostility and hatred towards Muslims and Islam was triggered on 9/11. That bitterness and hatred lingers to this very day and will perhaps persist forever. Had you been on the Gold Price Monitor thread in the weeks following 9/11, you would have witnessed the incredible surge of mass hysteria against Muslims and Islam. Many vowed revenge and even talked about the power of the womb to reproduce more of themselves in order to ensure that sweet revenge against Muslims shall be exacted over time. All of a sudden, long-time posters who had been generally friendly and liberal in their pronouncements before 9/11, shrieked execrations and vituperations against Muslims and anyone they perceive to be Muslim sympathisers. Irrationality and madness prevailed and common-sense and tolerance flew out of the window! (Against this scenario, one particularly vile and implacable witch (one G.T. or G. & P. T) put me on the top spot on her list of "Public Enemies", and her ardent admirer and disciple, a forlorn country yokel of a sheepie, re-posted my so-called anti-American posts with gay abandon apparently with the hope I would be roundly condemned by one and all and hounded out of SI forever. But no one condemned me and, much to their chagrin, I am still here as "notorious" as ever!) In the light of the above, I am sure you can understand why and how hot-heads and ignoramuses are so very anti-Muslim and anti-Islam. Little do many folks realize that there is no smoke without fire and that the Golden Rule operates inexorably!
