tejek,

How about this article:

msnbc.com

Movement volunteers tell gripping tales of the long-standing Israeli occupation.
But critics fault the volunteers for their lack of perspective.
In the activists' eyes, the Israelis are brutal overlords, and the Palestinians beleaguered and innocent victims -- a world view that is simplistic and black and white, critics say, and has, at times, led them to become terrorist supporters.

.
.
.
"If (these activists) are so concerned, why don't they ride a bus in Tel Aviv or Haifa? What about their human rights?"

Ted Re...Even if the machine was traveling 5 MPH, and I suspect your right since I have seen them in action, how do you get out from under it if you're buried up to your waist in dirt?

From the pictures, you see that the dirt is piled over the top of the blade, and she is 2 ft away yet. Pushing that much dirt, that machine couldn't have been going more than 2 mph. Secondly, to get that much dirt, the operator likely had already traveled some distance,20 to 30 ft, as I don't see a big pile of dirt other than the one in front of the blade. So, that account where the operator just speed up is bogus.

Why didn't he lift the blade first. Because it saves time if you lift the blade after you shift into reverse. It would take time to stop, lift the blade, and then go into reverse. Because both the shift, and blade controls are done with one hand, right usually; you would shift into reverse, then lift the blade as you go back. I mentioned in the other reply that he might have backdragged, but looking at the pictures, that is unlikely. You notice that the blade is lifted about a ft in one of the pictures.
