Hi energyplay,

Yes, the war rages on now for an as yet unknown number of days, weeks, months or years. But eventually it will end. All wars eventually end.

The boycotts may intensify and spread to other regions, other products. The war will come to an end, but J6P will remember the boycotts.

Let's guess as to how long it will take for J6P to boycott European products or Asian products. When the war ends, let's see whose memory is longer. Let's see which region depends more on exports to the other's country.

Boycotts always seem to find a way to backfire on those who organize them, sort of like the laws of unintended consequences.

My guess is that this war will be no different. The war will end, but unintended consequences, both from the war and from the boycotts, will continue to gain mass...

>>BERLIN (Reuters) - No more Coca-Cola or Budweiser, no Marlboro, no American whiskey or even American Express cards -- a growing number of restaurants in Germany are taking everything American off their menus to protest the war in Iraq.<<

still need to look further to see this happening around me. Fact is, I prefer Spezi to Ko and Buds is Spuds (except if it's the REAL stuff, I mean Prazdroj from Budjejovice), I dont smoke, I just go for malt whiskey and AmEx Card? Too expensive - no need to paint my behind golden or platinum to show off.

Like, reports, French are asking for the return of the Statue of Liberty, also seem to be exaggerated ("slightly distorted electric guitar"; to quote Mike Oldfield - and our baells are getting more tubular from day to day)
