FWIW, we had similar aims in Bosnia: stop the fighting and build a new modern state with economic prosperity. Eight years after the shooting stopped, we succeeded in stopping the fighting.

Re: tar sands, which are economic (cost per barrel now about $6.00 USD) and in volume

Do you happen to have any current URLs on this cost? I researched this a while back and I recall the costs to be much higher. Thanks for any reply.
