It's true 9-11 and Iraq saved Bush from major energy scandals. Cheney's energy papers constituted evidence of collusion and only after the GOP took control in November were they able to intimidate the GOA into backing off, by threatening to cut off their funding. Prior to 9-11, GW was a rudderless president with a lot of unpopular ineffective programs. War is GW's friend politically. He gets a pass on Iraq but that's it. Any more wars that aren't self-defense and I'll march for peace too. Let's hope this one gets over with quickly. And then peace.
