Re. torture and starving you don't know how extensive or true those stories are. Hardship of the people comes mainly from the sanctions that have been imposed for the past 12 years. IMO a lot of that is probably distorted to make the public accept an illegal war. We ALL believe W's motives are humanely based. Ha! Blood for Oil and regime change (to meet US needs and to boost Ws political fortune). He's not a nation builder or statesman of any sort. He's a Morally bankrupt mental midget who looks after soley the interests of his Oil buddies and other corporate laggarts. It's the Republican way. What makes me sick that these bastards take the Moral high ground, when their just a bunch of flaming hypocrites.
