I think today's speech by Cellucci pretty much summed up the problem with the current US regime, complete and utter lack of any diplomatic skills. When he made the comment about how the regime expected better from 'family', I thought perhaps I was watching an episode of the soprano's. .....lol.

Nice little temper trantrum on the part of the ambassador, and i'm sure it served its purpose of making our business 'elite' and official opposition sh!t their collective pants.

Bush got the presidency. get over it!... I am glad it is not Gore trying to run this country.. We would have to take a several polls before he got out of bed.

Security along the border is extremely important to U.S. a number of terrorist have come across from Canada.

Tighten security at the border hurts not only Canada in slowing down car part shipments, wood, etc into U.S. but also hurts the U.S. ,, slows down production, layoffs on both sides.. Retailers no inventory.. So let's be more fair and balanced. ggg

You cannot say Canada does not have a problem in defense spending.. On the way to Afgan .. didn't the planes have to turn around due to maintenance problems and have U.S. planes fly the troops over? Are not your helecopters all over thirty or forty years old. Serious maintenance problems for those in the your service who operate them.

Perhaps what the he was trying to say is many countries are not maintaining defense at their risk to support other social programs that are chocking you.

'Bush has played the fear card perfectly and has manipulated the national mood of vulnerability into a patriotic USA "uber alles" show of strength reaction that has begun to polarize this nation as it has already polarized the world. I am afraid that we have started down a road of violence begetting more violence and that it may not end before it gets even more horrific.' - #reply-18753471

That's from one of your fellow citizens, Mr Cellucci ... not too impressed with the act of your jefes, is he .... neither are we

The faux guilt you are trying to lay on us will not wash, Mr Cellucci - of course we will participate in continental defense wherever and whenever necessary .... but we also have a rough idea of how the planet is laid out, where the continent begins and ends .... we get a little news as well, so we know who is the invader du jour

The bullying and bribery will not work either, not on the majority of us .... we are canadians here, you seem to have confused us with some group of cowards and/or prostitutes .... if your war du jour was just and well conceived we would be there, and long before you arrived, as is our nature .... the fact that we are not there should tell you something, if you would only listen .... your product sucks, your management does not inspire trust, and we're not buying any

Your best move, Mr Cellucci, would be to grasp tightly to your bosom one of the leaflets we will be dropping you, read its instructions carefully, and try not to offend that Ashcroft individual in the time you must wait until a Mr Rick Mercer will arrive to accept your surrender
