I really have not formed an opinion on Indian identity. If you'd like to educate us I am all ears. I watched India/Pakistan cricket games when I lived in Pakistan. For the life of me I cannot get how some people could get so worked up over it. It seemed worse than World Cup madness in Europe...still, supporting a team you relate to is not quite the same as national identity. From what I have seen most Indians consider themselves to be...well...Indians. On the other hand I have also heard of a lot of violent clashes between different groups on nationalistic grounds. So I am not sure what to make of it.
