Ted Re...For the last few days, I have been watching this exchange wondering what's the point. And behind this issue, I am concerned that another nation[s] will enter this war on Iraq's behalf, and one of the those nations might be Russia.

Why now? To discredit Moscows objections to the war.

I'm not sure. Eric's reasoning is as good as anyone.......to telegraph to Russia that they won't join in on the spoils. Everyone seems pretty confident that Russia will stay out of the war but I don't think this is the time to be agitating and worsening relations between our two countries.

Its bad enough we have Turkey amassing weapons and troops on the border and now they are claiming a need to go 12 miles into Iraq supposedly for humanitarian reasons. And then in the Southeast, Iranian Shiites have entered Iraq.......I am not sure for what purpose.......but I bet they are not up to any good.

From what the experts are saying, until the 4th division gets to Iraq, we don't have enough troops on the ground to handle all these twists and turns.
