Kirk
when they did the very first beta (AKA "how badly can we screw things up)

They accidentally messed up the font sizing.
Since then it has never been put back to the correct(propper) size.

I blame SI for causing me to have to get glasses!
I'm not kidding.
I used to have perfect eye sight.
ABout a year ago, I finally had break down and buy reading glasses.

While the colors are nauseating, I find the fonts more disturbing.
All in all, it makes the SI experience that much less.
And it doesn't even taste great any more.

Why didn't spend time on a working search engine rather than waste time with this change?

Because you don't need it!
Or at least I am assuming that is what they thing<NG>

I have asked that question on more than a dozen occasions
I have never gotten a straight answer.
I think they dodge the question because they are too arrogant to admit they fouled up and don't know how to fix it!

If I click any of the new "Advertising" links such as "real time charts" or "Personal Finance",

I have the option turned off.
I don't see any banners nor would I ever click on them.
Even when they had the "punch the monkey" banner I let it go.
I admit
I was really tempted, but I fought the temptation.

A site must be easy to read and easy on the eyes for young and old.

Even with my music glasses I find the reading a chore. And, yes the bright orange-mud is the worst yet. Even this color exacerabates headaches------not a color conducive to working at the computer. This color is a little like looking at the sun's rays and who wants to do that---indirect sunlight great---however this is direct.

There is always room for improvement for any site---however these colors are not an improvemnent.
