Saudis propose Iraq peace plan

Inconsistent with the hegemony, but you knew that.

<<...Saudis propose Iraq peace plan...>>

r1: Interesting update...Unfortunately, I don't think our Administration will take the offer seriously...Bush has bet his political future on the success of this war in Iraq -- IMO, he is driven to 'liberate the Iraqis' at all costs...This could be his Waterloo...Wars are easy to get into BUT very difficult to get out of...I'm NOT sure everyone in the Administration learned all the important lessons from VietNam and Gulf War 1...It's sad -- Rumsfeld overruled our Generals and we don't have enough troops on the ground...We're facing a ruthless enemy that feels we are a colonizing power and will work to draw us into urban combat -- the stakes are high...How many body bags will we accept? I still feel that this war could and should have been avoided...I'm praying for our troops and the innocent Iraqis...Yet, I fear the UNintended consequences of this pre-emptive war may 'Shock and Awe' lots of folks -- even the NeoConservative warhawks (who rarely have ever been on a battlefield).
