John, the way I read it is:
1. They have to scroll horizontally to the right to READ the complete post... back & forth. . . until done.
2. Then, for some reason, after they have read the post, ending-up at far right, they scroll back to the left.
3. Now, in order to click "Next", etc. they have to scroll to the far Right again!
4. It seems to me that they should have stayed there (right side, after reading it) and clicked "Next", etc.
5. Yes, they don't want to scroll all the way over to the Right to click those little goodies.
6. They would prefer that those links be placed closer to the left, but still to right side of screen, so as to be visible on the first screen before any scrolling takes place. In the same place as if it were a normal post.

That's the way I see it. . . And, I might add, I very rarely EVER see a Fixed Font post and if I do, I have never seen this as a problem. . . But, that's just me. . .

FWIW,
Joe

John,

<< Fixed font is meant for the poster to determine the line breaks for tables and such. >>

Right.

Intelligent usage would dictate that one use "pre" and "/pre" (enclosed in right left angle brackets like italicized or bolded text) to enclose selected text within a post that includes tables with columns and rows and such.

Obviously the whole post can be "fixed font" here since the option is provided. This achieves the same purpose for the complete post, and perhaps there is a reason that escapes me that option has always been allowed here.

<< It seems like folks are requesting that they can easily click "Next 10" without scrolling in those situations. Correct? >>

That is not exactly what I am saying, and Jorj X, has a view on this that is different than what I am reporting (and he should explain it).

What I am reporting is that prior to a few days ago, if Jorj X, chose to submit a wiiiiiiide post (super wide table or whatever) it would be the only post in View 10 that extended well right of the screen.

Now, all posts in the View 10 screen are extended way right of the screen (on my 800x600 view).

I hope I have explained that satisfactorily.

Best,

- Eric -

John, can you comment on the color choices?

1. The ugly yellow
2. The pale gray - very difficult to read. Eye strain, less time on SI.
3. The pale blue - see number 2 above.
