Joe Re... think the US is sorting things out - indirectly. Taking out Saddam means one less sponsor of terrorism. Next is Syria (and their illegal occupation of Lebanon), which is something the US can sort out as well, by gently suggesting to Syrians to take their troops out of Lebanon (with 200,000 of US troops close to their border, they may listen.

Certainly that will help. But the US needs to pressure both sides to give concessions. WE should with hold the 10 billion in aid to Israel until they concede some things to end the turmoil. That will allow the Palestinians and Syrians to cede things and save face.
