<< Robert, what you wrote is pure nonsense: "America is the first country in world history who's war plan is to protect civilians, even if it risks American lives. So.... it takes America and Britain longer to liberate a small city like Umm Kasr." >>

On the contrary, America IS the first country in world history, who's WAR PLAN is to protect civilians, EVEN IF IT RISKS AMERICAN LIVES. This IS a first! I don't agree with it. I think that the lives of our soldiers should come first.

Hitler ran over many countries regardless of the lives of civilians or his own soldiers. Russia invaded and destroyed Afghanistan without regard of civilian casualties. Saddam invaded Kuwait and had the policy of torturing and murdering civilians. Serbia invaded Kosovo, and targeted the civilians there.

America is showing the greatness of the American people. We have great power. We could abuse our power. But we don't. We used our power to free Kosovo, to free Kuwait, to free Afghanistan, to free Europe; and then after freeing the nations, we try to build their economies, even if they were our foes in the war.

I am proud to be an American, and proud of our brave freedom fighters in Iraq!

Nagasaki and Hiroshima was specifically targeted to the civilian population with intent to demoralize the nation's war hoopla military machine.
