It is certainly clear now that those who said 60,000 would do it were wrong, wrong, wrong.

Somebody should collect the names, and no doubt somebody will.

It highlights the fact that while civilians need to decide what the broad objectives are, military needs to decide how to achieve them.

Edit: war game types can speculate as to how many would have been needed if the Turks let us have our northern front from the beginning. I am sure there is an excellent war game there.
