For a while the west could come ahead at the expense of the east. This is no longer the case. If you don't believe me go read George Soros on how interconnected we are. The bottom line is that you and I live in a condo. You have the penthouse, while I have the basement. It doesn't matter if it is my responsibility to do pest control and repair the leaks in my ceiling. If I don't do it, your life will be ruined too. And since I am not doing it (for a variety of reasons which takes too long to explain) then you have to do it, because it is in your interest.
