Bush just itching for Marshall law.... Although the rumor of the terror alert possibly being raised to Red appears to be hitting the market here, think it is worth discussing what a Red alert actually means. The Dept of Homeland Security's definition is "Severe risk of terrorist attacks". Associated with a move to Red would be the closing of public and government facilities. Based on the idea that the government would be essentially shut down, difficult to believe that trading floors are the first ones to get this info. They are usually first on the news, but would be somewhat skeptical of this one. Dow has just fallen 50 pts in 20 minutes. CC
