Actually, to suggest that we--presumably you mean the US--have any obligation to adolescents who have enough resources to deal with their own problems, such as Kuwait and SA, is ridiculous. They should simply be expected to act as good citizens of the global community.

Let me turn the tables on you. Why don't the wealthy nations of the ME take a more active role in helping out their petroleum-challenged neighbors? Why no news about aid from SA, Kuwait, Bahrain, etc., for Yemen and Afghanistan but cash for the suicide bombers? Why is it our burden to mollycoddle these failed states if their own brothers and neighbors turn their backs on them?
