Israel ditches US roadmap plan on Mideast Beirut, March 27, IRNA -- The Israeli Zionist regime has sidelined the US "roadmap" plan on the Middle East crisis and declared a new plan on its own, the Israeli press reported Wednesday. According to the Israeli press, the Zionist regime has announced a new political and security plan that it wants to implement instead of the US roadmap plan. The new plan of Israel has been drawn up by the Israeli war minister and in coordination with the ex-head of Mossad and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The Israeli press said the new plan of Israel would put an end to talks on the Saudi and US plans on the Middle East. The roadmap, drafted by the diplomatic quartet on the Middle East -- the United States, the United Nations, the European Union and Russia -- calls for a series of measures leading to an end to Palestinian militant attacks against Israelis and an independent Palestinian state by 2005.
