Fashion Police - Republican Guard in Polo Shirts

. .. "Last night it was revealed the Special Republican Guard have craftily disguised themselves as CIVILIANS — holing up in private Baghdad homes ready for guerilla war.

Refugee Guma Adam, a Sudanese hairdresser who lived in Baghdad for 15 years, said in Jordan: “They are hiding themselves in civilian houses. They’ve changed their clothes, but really they are soldiers. They are hiding with guns.”

An Iraqi revealed others had donned casual gear to guard key installations.

The exile said: “They wear polo shirts and are trying to look nonchalant, like they’re not really guarding the building.

“They radio each other and ask ‘When is the wedding?’ That’s their code for, ‘When are the Americans coming?”’

Scores of huge Mercedes-Benz trucks have also been placed in west Baghdad, apparently to be used as mobile rocket launchers. . . "

Looks like the strategy that is being employed is the one proposed by Donald "Armchair Chickenhawk" Rumsfeld and not the one that was proposed by Colin Powell. Doesn't look very encouraging...
