There was a news story about a group of some 100 vehicles that moved out of Basra.

North to the rear?? If they are moving from Baghdad they would have to go south to get to the front and further south to get to the rear. Unless you are talking about making a loop up north then around through the Western dessert and back behind the Americans. Thats pretty hard to do, a long run, very flat terrain and a lot of American aircraft.

They were moving south from Basra, not Bagdad. I thought tactically it was better to go north behind our troops for an ambush.......not that I am encouraging such a move. <g>
