The tricky thing is what do you do if a bunch of guys come walking toward you waving the French (i.e., white) flag..... Saddam clearly planted a group to fake a surrender and kill a bunch of troops so that we would start mowing down the next groups, and thus his troops would be afraid to surrender. Ruthless to the end. An end which is, thankfully, not far off.
