story that is a sign of the times. my brother is the CFO of a small boston software company. tomorrow is their third layoff in the last few months. they'll have gone from 88 to 64 people. it's gotta be bullish for the public software companies

Terry, Ol' Benedict had troops from more than one state, so I don't know if that counts. He was a terrific general, but they got hit by tornados en route (very unusual for that part of the world) and Congress effectively decided to stop supporting them halfway through the seige. Also, they were beseiging Quebec with fewer troops than the British had behind the city walls. A tough task.
