I just received the January issue of The Long Wave Analyst, written by Ian Gordon. It's about the Kondratieff Winter, gold, and the impending depression. It's a great read, although I doubt any of the local readers will learn much. If anyone wants a copy, PM me your email address.

I am, of course, very far from being bullish on the general markets, but we are at least starting to see the appearance of bearish forecasts and bearish advice, and that is a harbinger of an eventual bottom. Yesterday in my mail there was a slick color tabloid spread all over with selling strategies and panic dumping of stocks, plus claims of huge amounts of money made by following their advice for the past three years. But it may take another 2 years or more of market weakness to flush out most of the buy-and-hold true believers.
