I am sorry, I don't see your point. If you were to ask me why Soviets stank, I'd give you examples of their evil doing too. Are you somehow under the impression that I prefer them over US? But no matter how you look at it, we all reap what we sow. And if you have not noticed, the cold war is over. We won. We have the power and the responsibility to make it a safer more civilized place. But instead some people are so stuck in cold war mentality, that they cannot imagine a more stable world. Their thinking goes, sooner or later we are going to lose our edge so it is best to milk the world for all we can while we have it good and while we are at it we should destroy anyone who might later be a problem. I've seen this outlook many times...usually in mafia movies.

[edit: if it pleases you, Kuwait is another example albeit not as bad. We removed one dictator (Saddam) and replaced him with another dictator (Amir of Kuwait). That the dictator we installed was there before the one we kicked out, does not change the fact that we restored a corrupt regime to power].
