I agree that CA's current budget woes are not entirely because of the energy problem. Overspending during the 'flush' years has caught up. That, combined with the sharp downturn, has hit us hard.

However, that does not excuse the energy bandits, nor the FERC which refuses to make them pay back what they robbed. If the robber was a mobster, we could seize his assets. But, apparently, energy companies can get off without full restitution because...hmm, why is it?

Enron and Company didn't attack any other state like they did California. Do you blame victims for crimes and not the criminals? I thought you were a right-winger. Dont be a hypocrite. This is a 20 billion dollar ripoff of consumers of all types. Where's your law and order stand? You think just because no weapons were used it's not the biggest ripoff in US history? Heads should roll and reimbursements should be as full as possible. Davis is fighting hard to get justice but is being stone-walled by the Bushies who run our government. Just because their people were the perpetrators.
