30,000 troops from 4th Infantry is headed to the Gulf - which we knew - they would have been there sooner but for our friends the Turks - some news sources are reporting as it these are additional troops being called up as reinforcements - at any rate I am sure they'll be welcome. I wonder where their gear is. Have to google the carriers.

Dot for you: >>If the scene at the Turkish port of Iskenderun is any indication, this time the U.S. seems much more confident of striking a deal.

Military equipment is still arriving at Turkish ports, including helicopters, tanks and armoured vehicles. Other supplies have been delivered to airports in southern Turkey, raising speculation that American troops could still be airlifted into northern Iraq.<<

BTW, can't find anything new on the location of the Truman and the TR but my impression is that they're both still in the Eastern Mediterranean. It's a shorter route for the jets to Northern Iraq than the Red Sea.
