ha ha ha, gold shorts bite me. NEM rocks!
where is the PPT when you need 'em?

Newmont Mining surges higher (NEM) 2003/03/28 12:51:12

26.37 +1.81 : -- Update -- -- Technical -- Stock paused only briefly after a solid start (mentioned in 11:00 comment) and has recently surged to a fresh session high. Is approaching a solid resistance area between 26.49 and 26.52. This represents the 50/200 day ema, the Feb low and the 38% retrace of the late Jan/March slump. Next resistance is at its 200 day sma (26.69). Short term supports are at 26.25/26.20 and the 26 area.

Dollar lower, Gold FLYING! off double-bottom 2003/03/28 12:45:05

: The Dollar continues to lose ground vs. the Euro as investors seem to remember how they didn't hedge any wildcards over last weekend and ended up getting burned (Dollar fell 1+% on Monday). Flows are moderate and the Euro is holding well above support at $1.0720. A weekly close above here will be bearish for the Dollar as it could trigger Euro short covering by spec players into the close/over the weekend... Gold finding a major bid right now with Gold/Silver Index showing a 5.4% gain on the day. Seeing aggressive technical buying, as well as short-covering here, off double-bottom formation established by the Index.
