And just as the Koran contains passages that are inflamatory and sometimes unbelievable, so does the Bible.

There is quite a difference between a simple historical account of God Almighty directly employing a now non-existent theocratic Israel to exact wrath upon a nation, and a general written Mohammedan command to muslims to murder innocent people. But you, of course, will refuse to see the difference. That is a sad result of a closed mind.

Many religions interpret their holy books in the way that best fits the tenets of their beliefs.

The problem with this is that a reasonable reading of the quran does not require a great deal of twisting to support murder by muslim individuals. Read the quran-- not in the softer English versions. Read it in Arabic (or a an honest English translation).

It is not surprising that the most radical factions of both Islam and Christianity derive some of their outrageous beliefs from a narrow limited interpretation of the Koran/Bible, while completely missing the Spirit.

There you go again with fallacy, as if you can accurately judge the “spirit” above so many others. Since I do not accept your “spirit” as any suitable authority, certainly not one that understands Christianity, I must limit this discussion to simpler issues of human reason and not faith. Despite errors by individual Christians of the past, the Bible cannot be reasonably taken as a command Christians to slaughter non-believers. The quran certainly can.
