Zonk:

* Those Muslims that clutch the Koran to their chest on their way to murder innocents are a threat to us all.

* The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is not a failure. I frankly don't know why they bother. The failure rests with people like the Egyptian-born terrorist Araft. While not a Palestinian - he is the one they have chosen to represent them - and they could have done a whole lot better. The Palestinians rejected a deal in 1948 that would have created a Palestinian state - and Arafat did the same in 2000 - when he the Palestinians were offered Gaza and 95+% of the West Bank by Ehud Barak (with international support). Arafat's prior life as a terrorist is well documented.

* The Arab attacks on Israel in 1967 and 1973 is testament to how they see things.

* It is not the responsibility of the West to ensure that people in the Muslim world are happy with their lot in life. Democratic Muslim states are few and far between. Many are feudal-type states where religious leaders play a major role in the day-to-day political affairs of the state. They have created a power base which they aren't willing to let go.
