Re:"Does that violate some type of freedom of speech?"

No, the first Amendment right protecting the freedom of speech and press applies only to government action restricting individuals. Private entities such as the NYSE may make restrictions of their choosing.

Re:"Maybe this report is inaccurate?"

The report is accurate apparently. Several news sources have covered the ban of Al Jazeera at the NYSE. The press passes of its 2 reporters was revoked and they can no longer record video of business reporting from the floor of the exchange.

The NYSE claims that the press privileges of Al Jazeera were revoked because was not a significant player. The reality is that their broadcast coverage of the Iraqi war is not controlled like the Pravda like coverage of the US media. Al Jazeera shows things like US military and civilian casualties that are not part of Bush plan for coverage of the Iraq war by the Pravada-like coverage of the US media.

If you want accurate coverage of the Iraq war you must use seek foreign or other sources that are not serving as PR flacks to promote the Bush administration version of the war. All news sources have built in biases that differ depending on their point of view. But almost the entire US media voluntarily confines itself to the Bush party line designed by Karl Rove to have the appeal of a political campaign.
