Didn't you know we had no plans for a northern front until the BBC recommended it ?

Until we were stung by their criticism ?

The media clowns are good for laughs, that's about it.

I need to compile a list of the embedded journalists, American or not; they seem to be the only ones not trying to make political points.

Like we weren't getting them there as fast as we could after we were stiffed by the MF Turks? Except that I should talk nice about the Turks because there is still hope that they will allow the right of passage - why do I keep thinking about Charlie Brown and the football?

Somehow, I feel as annoyed about the Turks as I do about the French. The Turkish government was in a bind (one could say 'between Iraq and a hard place') with a public opposed to the war (no love for Saddam, but reasonable expectations of stirring up the Kurds and hurting the Turkish economy) and just being new in government and not very competent, they dithered and vacillated and tried for more than they could get. Now the EU and the US are mad at them, and their voters will be mad at them when it sinks in that they managed to get the cost of war without any US mitigation package.

The French, on the other hand, esp. Chirac Le Ver, knew exactly what they were doing.
