Jesus maintained two main thoughts regarding the Law. One, that not the slightest punctuation mark would be taken from the law. Anyone teaching someone to disobey the law would be in danger. Secondly, that Jesus himself fullfilled and superceded the law. Those positions were in tension, but not contradiction. He argued largely against contemporary misinterpretations and applications of the legal components of the faith.
