These were long, long running battles, by today's standards. I doubt that Saddam will run out of supplies for military (munitions). It is more likely that he will run out of armaments (tanks, artilery) to fire the munitions from (as we destroy them), rather than running out of munitions.

If we have Bagdad encircled, how can he get more supplies?

Joe Re...Stalingrad battle was in winter as well, but much further south, on Volga (now called Volgograd). In that battle, Russians had all kinds of possibilities of resupply, but it was the Germans that were kind of encircled, and they were short of supplies and munitions.

It was Stalingrad. The Russians did encircle the Germans in Nov, after the Germans laid siege to Stalingrad in Aug.. The Russians broke the siege to Stalingrad by driving over the frozen river, and bringing in supplies that way. While the German army was busy trying to take Stalingrad, Russia bought in 1 million troops, and encircled them. The Germans had no way to break Russia encirclement
