Ted,

The expectation is the third week of April. Some generals are suggesting we wait for them and consolidate our gains in the meantime. The problem of course is trying to maintain that 350 mile supply line for three weeks.

I don't think that would be that much of a problem, because if the troops are not moving or fighting much, their supply needs are limited. And, by consolidation, they mean eliminating the guerilla type fighters that could threaten the supply lines.

I think the challenge would be more on the political / diplomatic / PR front. There will be more calls for ceasefire, UN involvement etc.

Joe

I haven't heard anyone suggesting we should just "wait"; and I really can't see Tommy Franks putting the operation on hold for a few weeks. If it is up to him (and it is) I suspect we will be drilling the enemy over the course of the next 2-3 weeks. While I don't predict it, I don't rule out the possibility it could be over by then.
