Many neocons are scoop jackson democrats in drag. Necon impulses originate in liberal thought. Make the world safe for democracy interationally--JFK tax cut strategy on the other. They just realize that the League of Nations oops UN has failed and the french and russians are into old games of balance of power politics. The left wing opposition has become this gens reactionaries. But a few democrats have maintained their credentials and hopefully a neo-lib movement with sounder economic policy and a penchant for rebuilding international institutions is still possible. Neocons need legit opponents in the two party system, not screaming self haters on the left and neo-isolationist, pseudo intellectuals on the right. Now i am talking the lingo. mike
