Well, I did say Belgrade, not Kosovo. And I did refer to those bombs that dispersed graphite threads that shorted out power lines.

Now whether my references are a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy as regards the departure of Milosevic I am not certain. But I did not expect him to be brought down, and he was. So it appeared to me at that time that, quite contrary to my expectations, bombing of that sort might have had some effect, removing support rather than consolidating it.

Persistent discomfort may be more effective than intermittent violence in changing people's minds.
