I have found the Shuttle one locally.

"proprietary form factors and minimal expansion capabilities"
Sunrays are proprietary form factors, Mini-ITX not.
mini-itx.com

IMO, a PC needs not be bigger than a brick. USB, Display and Firewire ports is all I need for most usage.
Wish this form factor was more common: ibuypower.com

Different story for my Gaming machine though...

I said I'd report back.

I've heard from nOrhtek: $395 for theirs, available now in limited quantities.

Casetronic responded, but said little more than "See our Web site," and I'm not willing to spend time hunting for pricing; they're not shipping yet, anyway.

Both said they'd be shipping in volume within the next few weeks.

So apparently there are some quiet PCs available (or will be soon). Still, the SunRay has been available for quite a while.

JMHO.
