<< don't blame the Iraqis for doing whatever they must to try and defend themselves>>

The downside to that is that WE may have to adjust the way we fight in such a way that it will not be as friendly to civilians. I hope it doesn't come to that but if things continue we may have to move to a "take no prisoners" policy.

Actually, if the U.S. fought the war on Iraqi
terms
, it would be over already and there would
be nothing left there but sandstorms and rubble.

Of course those were Saudis that attacked us on 9/11. I guess using your logic we might as well have attacked Canada. They are closer, after all- and they have about as much connection to 9/11.

I don't blame the Iraqis for doing whatever they must to try and defend themselves.....anymore than I blame the U.S. from doing what it has to to defend itself.

I agree that the Iraqi military needs to pull out all stops to try and defend themselves from us, to have any chance of defeating us [they don't of course]

however, I don't think the general Iraqi population feels that way

lost, vulnerable, scared, yes - but I honestly think the majority of those people want to be liberated from a tyrant and his terrorizing thugs

they want to be liberated, to be free to rule themselves, without tyranny, without fear

if the US government treated me like the Saddam regime treats their people, I wouldn't try very hard to defend my country from what I would see as a liberator

question is, do they see us as that? or are they in doubt?
