They might well want them gone... but not replaced by an alien invading army. I can't think of any good precedent for this - where a native population have overthrown their own, native rulers in favour of foreign occupation. Plus, I believe, what they will be expecting of us is what they've seen in our ally, Israel. Do you think the way Sharon has treated the Palestinians is going to encourage any locals anywhere in the ME to welcome American rule? Remember, there's been constant propaganda about this; Saddam's funding of families of suicide bombers was called out (then abandoned) as one of the causes for invasion. I can't see a significant popular uprising in our favour from anyone expecting a new Gaza Strip...
