First, a couple of points of fact:

The civilian population in Basra staged an uprising 12 years ago and was CRUSHED by Saddams Baath regime.

No one was invaded 12 years ago, we stopped WELL short of taking over the country.

This is where I have a hard time understanding your logic.

If you lived in Iraq, and:

1.) Your government has fought tooth and nail at your expense and lives in lavish Palaces while you starve.

2.) Anybody you know who complained about the government was either never heard from again, or publicly tortured to death.

I think you'd be like most of the Iraqi people. You wouldn't give a damn about anything as long as nobody stole your stuff or messed with you.

Why do you feel about ur country the way you do now? Because you aren't afraid of ur government and your proud of ur country. Iraqi's can't even get people to participate in the olympics because of their scare tactics.
