Yes I would agree with your last point.

I argue that China doesn't feel threatened over this.
If anything we risk looking weak. We also reveal our
tactics and show-off our technology which they will copy.

I am not an expert in oil, so I don't know China's energy needs, but if we are successful in Iraq, oil prices will be lower. The US will have more money to spend on Chinese imports.

Like I said later, China just wants to see the US weaker.
