The U.S. exerts no pressure whatsoever on Israel to do anything. To do what?? Grant Arafat the right to establish another Iraq right in the heart of Israel?? Really now... It seems to me that the Palestinians took the path of confrontation when they launched into the latest intifada.. They should have followed Ghandi's approach to obtaining independence.. Shaming the occupants through passive resistance and peaceful, but huge, demonstrations. If the Palestinians had researched their opponent, they would have realized the most effective weapon they had was guilt and shame... of course, that depends on what agenda they really have.. merely establishing a state.. or doing so while destroying Israel..
