U.S. Marines who secured a hospital that had been used by Iraqi forces later found several bloodied U.S. uniforms worn by female soldiers

In another room, Marines found a large battery next to a bed — leading them to suspect it was used as a torture device, Sanders reported.

Hi Amy,
I cant blame the media for its present bias. Our reporters are more sensitive to the suffering of our soldiers, than the suffering of others. Showing the suffering of the other side does not improve TV ratings or sell more newspapers. Showing the impact of our side has an immediate financial impact. This has been true of all wars. However due to the Internet, the media is probably more balanced today than in past conflicts.

However this war was totally unnecessary and its logic is hard to decipher. I have a very hard time explaining why we are at war to my mother and to my children. Even the VietNam War made more sense in the context of the Cold War anti-communism crusade and the fear of falling dominoes. To most of the world this war appears to a Bush vendetta against Saddam.

I have learnt to intensely dislike Donald Rumsfeld. He did an excellent job in the aftermath of September 11. But since the fall of 2002, he has been an unmitigated disaster. He is the chief architect of scary Principle of Preventive Deterence, and its application to Iraq.[ One example of such a doctrine was the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor.] His inappropriate comments about our traditional European allies have lead to an unprecedented diplomatic isolation of the United States. Rumsfeld rushed us into this war without UN consent, because the diplomatic process was messing up his war time table. And now it turns out, that he did not even have enough troops lined up for battle ! His assumptions were naive and poorly thought through.

I am sure that we will prevail soon. We'd better !

But the unintended consequences of this war will haunt us for the next 50 years. A much greater level of terrorism ! Alienation from the entire Arab world ! The silly cold war logic lead to a CIA planned coup in Iran in 1953. This lead to a hatred of USA in Iran, which persists even today.

I wish I had greater confidence in the judgement of our present political leadership.

Evidence of the abuse--torture and murder--of American POWs in Iraq may exist on videotape. There are apparently two versions of the tape shown by Al Jazeera. The second, shown over and over on Egyptian TV, shows both the murder of American POWs and the desecration of their bodies. Though the tape has been shown over and over in the Middle East, congressional requests for access to it have so far been denied. One source told me that some of what he saw reminded him of the murder of Danny Pearl.

In order to train a mule, you 1st try a carrot. We
tried that for 12+ years. Now, in order to get the mules
attention, we're trying a 2X4. If that doesn't work,
either sell the mule, or put it out of YOUR misery.
Take Care!
